Tate Lake is located in Franklin County Washington, about 20 miles South of Othello. The lake is 2,200 feet long, 240 feet wide and nominally 5 feet deep. It has large turn islands and is very easy to drive. The Lake water comes from Grand Coulee Dam, which irrigates most of Central Washington. Tate Lake offers exclusive private rentals for tournaments, ski clubs and family groups.
The concrete launch ramp is 122 feet long and 16 feet wide and easy to negotiate. There are also three finger piers in the boat basin. Tate Lake has a bottom anchored record tournament class slalom course- the jump is strictly off-limits except for Water Ski USA sanctioned tournaments. Free camping is available for lake renters - please camp on the north side of the lake on weekends, and west of the lake on weekdays - sprinklers are on timers. There are a dozen 8 foot picnic tables available, feel free to move them to suit your camping arrangement. Bring your own firewood and only use the designated fire pits During the season there are two plastic outhouses with hand wash provisions available to renters. There is limited drinking water in the campgrounds- no vehicle or boat washing please. Limited electricity is available:
Ice cubes are available in the freezer outside the shop building opposite the trees by the launch ramp. Cost: $2.00/8 lb bag. There is no aquatic weed problem at Tate Lake and therefore no aniline dye or other chemicals are used- please be careful to not introduce any weed from your boat, trailer or vehicle into the take Feel free to fish in the lake, you will find mostly carp and a few bass. Each person on site is required to fully and legibly fill out a waiver form
An approved boat insurance certificate is required prior to the rental period for each boat on the property
Stay inside the boat wake when going around the turn islands The islands are faced with rock to suppress wave & wake erosion Only mid-engine inboard ski boats are allowed. Wake boarding is allowed however, wake board, outboard, stern drive, jet boats, etc. are not allowed. Wake enhancing devices (e.g. fat sacks, foils, weight/people in the stern, etc. are also not allowed. Only one boat is allowed on the lake at any time; all others must be out of the water or moored in the boat basin. Motor bikes, dirt bikes, quads, etc. are not allowed Shooting or the use of any firearms are not allowed Driving on the grass is allowed. However, please be careful not to hit or break the sprinkler heads. Please try not to be barefoot at Tate Lake- especially at the east end Do not drive east of the cabin or the south judging tower There has never been a serious injury at Take Lake and we want very much to keep it that way! Please make sure that everyone in your party reads and understands the rules.
